WHAT’s NEW AT ESKO
Yes, things are happening at Esko. That shouldn't come as a surprise, because innovation is our middle name – and growth is in our genes. Check out the latest news!
On Wednesday, March 2nd, the University of Leuven and UCLL organized the 8th edition of the Flemish Programming contest. As in previous years, Esko was represented with some motivated software engineers, ready to take on the battle.
The Flemish Programming contest is being organized once a year, each time by different colleges or universities in Flanders. This contest is supported by several educational institutions and prominent IT companies. The goal is to encourage the passion for programming at the Flemish youth and discover the bright minds of the future. Esko is one of the partners that supports this initiative and helps promoting IT education in Flanders.
Attendees compete against each other by completing as many challenging programming exercises as possible in a limited time frame (3 hours), in one of the many supported programming languages. Participants attend in teams of three people and cooperate to increase their chances of success.
The competition is being organized for 4 separate categories, each with a customized difficulty level:
Esko was represented in this competition with one team attending in the 4th category. Three of our software engineers, Jeroen Penninck, Tom Van Regenmortel and Kristof Vanderhoydonck teamed up and accepted the challenge. Of the 41 participating groups in their category, they ranked 9th.
A great achievement, congratulations guys!
